About

¡Hola! My name is Beatriz. You can call me Bea.
I was born in Colombia (South America), on a sunny morning of 1974... Wait, that's too cheesy! ;-) Anyway, I lived there until I was in my mid-twenties, and then migrated to Quebec (that would be Canada) where I made a life for about 8 years. I became a proud Canadian citizen in 2004 and I do think the beaver is a truly noble animal.
I left the Great North in 2007 and moved to the U.S. where I share my life with a wonderful Colombian man I met a while ago in the blogosphere. We live in the Greater Chicago Area and we're owned by two crazy cats named Shayla and Maia. We also have some plants I haven't managed to kill yet.
I have a B.Sc. in Biology, but I still don’t know what I’m going to do when (if) I grow up. For now I make a living working for the health and sciences division at a big college and I'm loving it. Most part of the rest of my time I spend it involved in different diabetes advocacy communities, playing World of Warcraft and reading... a lot.
This blog has been online, under several different names, since 2001.
