F5: Times of the Day

Friday Five (From Heather)

1. What’s your favorite time of day? Around 3 p.m., when we’re just relaxing here with Patrice, watching a little T.V. or when we have to go run some errands. I don’t like to be alone, so when he comes home it feels just great. I also like the evenings because they are quiet and I can sit to read a book or just play in front of the computer without having to answer the phone or worry about other things.

2. What’s your least favorite time of day? Mornings when I don’t have to go to work. I feel alone and sometimes I just don’t know what to do with all my free time and I have to admit that I don’t like house work too much, but then I have to do it so it’s a bugger! And when the sun is coming down I call it the “Feeling Blue Hour”; I just feel sad.

3. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Does it cause any problems? I’m a night owl, that goes to sleep much later than my hubby and of course he wants me to go to bed with him, but I just can’t; it runs in my family. However, I’m not like mom or dad who always were up very early. I’m a real lazy person who has a lot of trouble trying to get up early; but once I’m up everything runs smoothly.

4. If you had an entire worry- and obligation-free day, what would you do with it? I’ve had them… and sometimes I just wish I really had to do something! I love to read, so probably you would find me embebed in a book or playing around with the computer. But my ideal day-off is definitely going out, take a walk, see nature, take some pictures, breathe some fresh air and have fun.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? We were suppossed to paint the appartment last weekend, but hubby was sick. So yesterday we went to buy the painting and those are the plans. We’re going to start with the living room, putting two beautiful colors with a wallpaper. And maybe next weekend we’ll work in the bedroom; good that our “office” is already done because we spent way too much time in here!

Thank you, Daisey

I’ve met one of the coolest people online tonight. She’s not only good at what she does, but also a great person; and she has my dream dog: a beagle! That’s Daisey, who helped me to solve a little script lio I had. Thanks a lot, girl! You’re like an inspiration :) Hope your band will come and play here someday!

Face Lift

No, it is not a re-design. Just a few image changes, that’s it :) I thought it could be more “autumn style”, so I did it. What do you think? Being philosophical sometimes help, eh?

On another note (a very important one): I want all of you to pray for a friend of mine; please light a candle, send your energy or do anything you can because she’s in need of good thoughts.

Loneliness

Sometimes it’s very hard to have to spend most of your time alone. With hubby working and my not working that much, it leaves me plenty of free time I really don’t know what to do with. I know I should try and do something new, something good, something to keep myself busy…

It is really hard when you’re not able to let out everything you have inside. Of course I share with Patrice, but there’s always something left behind that keeps going on and on in my head, that keeps me from sleeping well, from actually being able to enjoy life.

When you don’t know what is going wrong is bad, but when you know what you want, but you see no means to achieve it as fast as you want, that is frustrating. I guess I just need to be patient, take one day at a time and let life flow. Today I feel like half-way from the things I would like to do.

I guess I could use a listening friend. I’m at the selfish point here, not wanting to hear anyone but to be totally heard. I’m not to give advice now, I want someone to listen to me without having to listen to them. I miss Midori…

Diabetes Mini-Campaign

I’m early for a Mini Campaign I’m planning. Many of you may know that November is Diabetes Awareness Month and many of you don’t know that I’m Pre-Diabetic, with a very well controled blood sugar level (I just made my test and it was 5.7, with 7.5 being the high limit).

I lost my father last year due to a Diabetes complicaton (heart disease) even if he took care of himself, followed the Dr.’s advice and a strict diet combined with exercise. It wasn’t enough… this “Silent Killer” doesn’t give a chance to anyone and it is in our hands to make whatever we can to find a cure.

I was always concerned about the disease, for I loved my father more than anyone else in the world and when I saw him dying at the Intensive Care Unit, I understood that I had to do something. Then, in last April my Endocrinologist told me that I had Diabetes too. So now it’s time to act and help others too; we can’t let this monster to take away our lives and the lives of those we love so much.

My Mini Campaign consists in giving links containing information about Diabetes everyday. If you want to join me, just let me know. And answer me this question: Are you or someone in your family or among your friends a victim of Diabetes? We’ve got to do something!
