Open Letter to my ISP

Dear Vidéotron,

Do you think it is fair that we users pay close to 35 dollars every month to get this crappy service? It’s been two long weeks since surfing the internet is a royal pain in the butt, and for those of us who make a little living of the net, it’s getting really frustrating. The pages either take ages to load, or they simply don’t open. I’m so fed up with those “Page Not Available” and the blue bar going and going in my browser without taking me anywhere.

This is what you call service? For God’s sake. It’s like we’re stuck in the Internet Twilight Zone without a way out because, unfortunately, you’re the only company providing High Speed (Yeah, right!) service in my area. I don’t give a rat’s butt about your syndicate and its problems, have a little respect for the users! Besides the many times your unhappy employees have cut cables leaving us without T.V. service for days, now we have to put up with your sluggish internet service. Frankly speaking, the dial-up goes way faster these days.

We are paying users, we are responsible users. We deserve to be treated with respect. Fix your legal and work problems soon and provide a good service, please!

Adelphia User

I would like to know who is the Adelphia user that is so fond on my site. I get hits from the same Adelphia ISP several times a day, and this person stays for over 20 minutes sometimes. Now I’m curious. Entertain me, please! Or at least, identify yourself so my paranoia will go away. Thanks!

On other happy news, I want to thank Brooke for sending me a link where I could find the MP3 of the song that made Kelly Clarkson famous. I personally didn’t follow “American Idol“, but I saw the show last night and I fell in love of that “For a Moment Like This“.

Racist War

Remember the little incident with Jean Chrétien and his declarations about the anger of the Third World being the cause of terrorist acts? Now it is Nelson Mandela who has come with another theory of how oppression from powerful countries can be taken very wrong: Racism.

“Neither Bush nor Tony Blair has provided any evidence that such weapons exist [in Iraq]. But what we know is that Israel has weapons of mass destruction. Nobody talks about that. Why should there be one standard for one country, especially because it is black, and another one for another country, Israel, that is white.” And he added: “This is not my view, but that is what is being said by many people.”

Why is it that everybody sees it, but nobody does something? *sighs*

Home-Made Hamburgers

I grew up eating my mom’s home-made hamburgers. They were delicious, tasty and healthy. After much trouble I finally convinced Patrice that the recipe my mom passed to me is way better than those “insipid” hamburgers from McDonald’s  I don’t know how odd it will sound for some of you, but here’s the recipe.

Ingredients (Makes about 10 big hamburgers)

1 lb. ground lean meat
2 eggs
3 tbsp. of bread crumbs
1 tsp. of garlic
salt and pepper

Preparation: Mix the eggs as if you were going to make them scrambled and have them ready. Apart, put the meat, the garlic, salt and pepper and mix them; you can add some herbs and soy sauce if you want. Then add the eggs and the bread crumbs so you will have a good consistence to form the meat balls. The rest I guess you can imagine. Make your hamburgers, put them in the pan with a little bit of olive oil and enjoy them! I personally like them with onions! YUM!

And yes, made them tonight :-) Picture in my photolog.
