Life as it happens…

Published by Bea under Weblog

Today I finally talked to Elisa after a week of playing cats and dogs. The little chat with had over the phone left me thinking that these days I don’t share much about my own life, even if it’s not that interesting. I’m concentrating in linking to other sites or talking about politics (if my views on the world can be called politics… lol!), which is not really me. I’m the “journal” type of person, talking about my day and adventures; I think that if I write more about my own stuff I’ll start feeling better about some things that make me feel bad, so here I go with a “all about life” entry.

Cute Heath

Published by Bea under Weblog

One of the cutest scenes I’ve seen in a movie, is when Heath Ledger starts singing “Can’t take my eyes of you” to Julia Stiles in “10 Things I Hate About You“. I cannot say I find the guy very attractive, but he’s simply adorable while dancing and escaping from the school guards. It’s one of those scenes that makes you smile with each one of your teeth.

For the record, people who put pop-up ads in websites should be prosecuted! (just looking for the proper definition of prosecution I got 3 of them, nice!). Looking for links to information about the two actors above I was literally attacked by a horde of wild pop-ups that almost made my system crash, ugh! Same thing for Spam…

Trick or Treat!

Published by Bea under Weblog

A little bit of the history, origns, tips of Halloween in the History Channel website. For the people in Montreal, some chiropractics are opening their offices late to offer X-Rays services so parents can check if there are razor blades or any other kind of harmful thing in their children’s candy. Cool, eh?

Discrimination at its best!

Published by Bea under Weblog

More news on Oct. 31st:
- Terror law violates rights: Graham
- Canadians ‘treated like criminals’ at border
- Canadian held as ‘mega-terror’ expert

I was happily watching the news when this hit the screen: Ottawa issued a report yesterday telling Canadian citizens born in Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan or Syria they should “consider carefully” whether to travel to the United States “for any reason” following the introduction of a law that requires them to be photographed and fingerprinted. Canadians born in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Yemen are also being cautioned that they can expect special attention from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, according to a Global National report last night.

Reasons for Love # 6

Published by Bea under Weblog

Last week I totally forgot about the Reasons for Love, my mistake. I remembered when it was already Thursday and since this is a Wednesday meme, I didn’t want to mess it up. But here I am with my reasons for loving Patrice and I hope you share yours too.

It’s about the numbers

Published by Bea under Weblog

I have seen this Name Numerology thingy all over the place. I just found it again at my evil partner’s (who btw is wearing a Halloween costume featuring certain Leafs fan). Give me numbers, star signs and all kinds of things related with Astrology and you’ll have me there for hours. I don’t believe in Horoscopes, though. Curious, the number 5 doesn’t appear and it’s my favorite.

Scary gases

Published by Bea under Weblog

Imagine something like this happening in a theater you visit, let’s say… in Brodway. Oh my God! What happened in Russia just gives terrorists more ideas to mess up with the world. I just don’t want to think about it; gases that cause brain death, gases like the ones they say Iraqis use, gases that make you hallucinate.

And from what I read, Some US institutions (with the help of the British) cannot wash their hands about creating this kind of biological-chemical weapon.

See the good too!

Published by Bea under Weblog

I cannot understand women who are always complaining about how miserable their lives are because of their husbands. When someone I know only gives me the “bad” news about her house, of course I’ll have the wrong image of the man she married and I’ll start wondering why on earth she’s still with him, even if she seems to be so unhappy. I mean, if you are so miserable with that man… Right? Otherwise, start seeing the good things too and stop telling others stuff you shouldn’t be sharing with everyone, because “the dirty clothes are washed at home”.

We all have the right to complain from time time because our life partner is not perfect all the time. But nobody is! It makes me sick to my bone when all I hear from a friend is how inconsiderate and lazy her husband is, because I’m sure that man has another face to show. I however understand that sometimes marriages don’t work and that decisions have to be made, but can’t just they manage it personally?

When they start proclaiming that marriage is not that good it just drives me insane; just because you happen to have a couple of flip-flops in your relationship it doesn’t mean you can discourage others about it just to make them feel better because they don’t have what you have. And for that matter, I think it always takes two to make things work, so probably the one who is complaining is waiting for the other part to do all the work and that is not how things are. Or maybe that’s just how I feel.

Like I said, nobody is perfect and my own marriage is very far from being it too, but I’m happy. I love my husband even when he makes mistakes and I always try to highlight the good things he does because that makes me feel good. If I start concentrating only in the fact that sometimes he doesn’t help me around, or that he forgets things, I’ll start being unhappy. It’s simple like that. I’m married because I want to, because relationships rock, because we were made to live in couple and because it’s good to have someone to hug at the end of the day and know it’ll be the same the next one.

And for those who don’t have this kind of happiness, I will always have encouraging words to never stop hoping for that special someone to come to their lives. Even if maybe one day my own relationship starts falling apart.
