Slowing Down

Must be the upcoming trip to Colombia and the way I’m thinking of how to protect my husband from the harsh reality of my country, no matter how much I love it… I’m feeling too stressed. That and the fact that I have an appointment with the Ophtalmo. tomorrow to check my Diabetic eyes and that I have to go for blood tests later this week, to see my Endocrino. when I’m back in March. It didn’t use to be like this before, but now the word Doctor makes me nervous…

There are plenty of things to do before leaving for warm South America and I’m feeling kind of forced to post on this blog, rather than really wanting to do it. So, I’ll slow down until next month. I won’t stop posting, but the share of daily Bea will come in small doses; for some odd reason, sitting in front of the computer makes me more nervous. How’s that?

See you then!

Annoying!

I’m getting hits from two porn sites and I have no idea why. I’m not going to link or check the pages carefully because it’s annoying, but if someone knows what this could mean I’d be very thankful for your help.

The hour issue hasn’t changed. Every time I post the time shows like 5 hours behind; the time zone is correct in my MT settings and my host says that their time zone is correct. Bite me, I don’t know why this is happening either.

Forwards are fun sometimes, but not when people send you every single thing they get in their mailboxes, one message after another. Ugh! Specially dull jokes about marriage. Time to block this person’s address due to abuse.

And, I’m feeling blah. Hope you’re having a much better week.

Say a prayer

A great friend of mine has told me his father was diagnosed with a very serious illness a couple of days ago. I won’t give details to respect his privacy, but I’m extremely sad and I’m asking you to say a prayer when you have the time. Thank you.

It sucks when you see the people you love suffering.

La Grange, La Paix

Karl, from La Grange, has pictures of the peace walk here in Montreal  I totally forgot to charge my camera batteries and I was sad I couldn’t take any photos, but thanks to his comment now I have something good to show.

And here’s an impressing mpeg of how Ste-Catherine street changed yesterday. Goodness! Looking at the crowd makes me feel proud for being part of the manifestation. [Via Aaronland]

For those thinking I’m an idiotic idealist… No. I have been thinking A LOT since yesterday, but an episode of neuralgia thanks to my diabetes is blocking my capacity to write something that makes sense about why I think war is not the way to go against Saddam. I’ll try tomorrow because I’ve heard people saying we war protesters agree with the crimes that man is committing. They cannot be more far from the truth…

Upgrading

I just upgraded MT and I want to know why my smilies don’t display in my comments… ha ha! I edited the Util.pm file where the hack was (the hack I’m referring too was the original one by Lynda), they work fine when I put them in an entry but well… they don’t show in the comments, even if I can click on them and I don’t get any JavaScript errors, so I’m puzzled. Help anyone?

Also, I have no idea why the hour is showing so behind!! I posted this entry around 1:15 p.m. and it shows as 8:49. But it was happening before the upgrade, so I don’t know if it’s a server problem. Ugh! And my referrers kind of stuck.

UPDATE: I fixed the smilies thingy, thanks to this threat at the MT Forum. It was really simple: I just had to change my sanitize specs in the weblog configuration, make them user-setup and entering the img src tag. Cool! Now I have to figure out what is wrong with the hour (no time zone problem) and the database for the referrer script.
