Feliz Cumpleaños, Papi…

bdaydad2003.jpg

My dad would’ve turned 67 today. I didn’t realize what date it was until I checked my e-mail and saw April 28th in one of the messsages. I can’t believe it… He’s not here. It was a striking realization and I thought the reaction was going to be worse, but here I am, all cool wishing my dad a Happy Birthday in heaven. I need to call my mom… I know she’s having a miserable day, or maybe not. God has given us time as a medicine for our sorrow. Feliz Cumpleaños, papi!

Ah! La biologie…

I’m on a high! Really excited after looking at the application form for the Societé de Biologie de Montréal I’m now browsing the website and discovering all the fun activities they have; can’t wait to send my application and start being a Biologist again. I’m so looking forward to going birdwatching… I miss doing that so much!

Big changes are taking place in my life. I have stopped working in the flower business for good (although I don’t think I’ll be totally detached from it). My plans are to go back to school and Patrice is now being payed as a married person, so I can stay home and get my things ready. Getting Informed

sars.jpg

What is it? What are the symptoms? What is the cause? What are the treatments? How can you protect yourself? Super-interesting coverage about SARS, if you are one of those people who like to get well informed about the things happening in the world. I’ll try to get a copy of the magazine this week.

I met a friend today!

You know how it is always different when you finally meet someone you know online? Well, today I met an online friend in person and it was different… yes, much better! I met Maggie and André and I’m really happy! She’s such a nice person and I think it is wonderful that we finally got to see each other. If I defended her from the internet trolls before, I’ll do it even more now that I know what she really is in person. You really need to know someone personally to have a real judgement; meeting Maggie was a totally different thing from talking to her online. It gave me a whole new perspective and I like it, I like it very much.

F5: Last Things

1. What was the last TV show you watched? Show? Well, not really. I was watching the hockey game between the Ottawa Senators and the Philadelphia Flyers. Go Ottawa Ha ha ha!

2. What was the last thing you complained about? That I got home too late to call Maggie on the phone to arrange meeting with her tomorrow. Will have to send her an e-mail… now!

3. Who was the last person you complimented and what did you say? My husband. I told him that he’s adorable, sweet, cute and that I love him for that. He really knows how to make me smile.

4. What was the last thing you threw away? An empty box of kleenex after Patrice finished it up with I don’t know how many sneezes. Well, I put it in the recycling bag. Gosh! I still can hear him… LOL

5. What was the last website (besides this one) that you visited? I think it was Big Pink Cookie Hi Christine!
