Halloween Town

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, throw him in a box
Bury him for ninety years, then see if he talks…

I’m loving this very simplistic layout that allows me to give my weblog a facelift just in a few minutes by changing the images and the css. Of course, simple is always better. Lock, Shock and Barrel will be your hosts until Halloween.

Becoming Canadian

While waiting for the flight to leave Dorval Airport (or should I call it Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport?) I went to visit the news stand, I have a fascination for news stands at every airport, can’t help it. I ended up buying a copy of How to Be a Canadian by Ian Ferguson and Will Ferguson. The minute after I opened it people started looking at me as if I were out of my mind… I couldn’t stop laughing.

These two guys mock themselves and the rest of Canadians, and describe the very best and the very worst of people living in this northern land. The book is really entertaining and kind of informative for me, a Canadian to be. You have to live in this country, or at least know a little about Canuckistan and its people to fully enjoy it, but even if you don’t know much I can guarantee you will end up laughing.

I’m just snopping you!

If you’re one of those who believe every little thing you read (or see) online, you’re being the perfect catch for people with absolutely nothing to do. These “curious and inventive” humans come up with all kinds of Urban Legends that most of the time freak us out. But now you can go and check if that outrageous rumor you heard or terrible e-mail you received are really true. Snopes is the place.

Mail for Idiots

How to make an idiot happy? Put a new membership card and a postcard from Paris in her mailbox, he he! That’s what I found this morning: My brand new CAA membership card with a sticker for the car and a postcard from Brian & Co. who is visiting Europe. It’s fun to collect mail again!

That reminds me that I have a few Cartagena postcards to send because I couldn’t mail them from Colombia. First because I left my address book here at home and second because it’s cheaper to mail from Canada, can you believe that? Not that I’m cheap, but we were kind of short of Colombian pesos and the money exchange in Cartagena really sucks. But for those who are expecting something, check your mailboxes pretty soon!
