MWI Poop

Published by Bea under Life, Webbies

I didn’t know the tale was so old and I can’t believe the problem hasn’t been fixed. Today I received an e-mail from Patrice informing me that the company had deposited some money in my bank account, so I went to check it online and then proceeded to see how my VISA was and there I found a charge of $126 CAD from something called MWI*Galleria! I asked Patrice if he knew what it was and he thought it was assurance until I said the numbers… My goodness!

My first reaction was to check on Google for MWI*Galleria, and there it was, a long list of sites with complaints and reports about rip-offs and scams. I even found an entry about it at Kristine’s weblog as well as in other weblogs. What is this about? Some people were signed up for the MWI and are being charged without their consent. Others, like me, are not even in the U.S., don’t know what the heck MWI is and are being charged on their VISA bills.

Patrice is talking to the people at VISA right now and I guess this will be solved, but I can’t believe this has been going on for such a long time and nobody has done shit about it. Some reports are from 2001! The “company” is leaving comments in weblogs trying to explain what happens, but it just sounds very stupid to me. Someone has got to stop these fraudulent fellas.

Another year goes by…

Published by Bea under Holidays, Life

Two days before the New Year. Today’s my mom’s birthday, she’s in the new house with a guy who will install blinds and I’m trying to catch up with people who have sent me messages for Christmas… Thank you, everyone. I have kind of lost the habit of posting and I really don’t know what to write about, so I’ll simplify things with a New Year’s message.

Best wishes for everybody. For those who have felt abandoned or ignored by “yours truly” I promise I’ll make it up to you when I’m back in Canada. For those who shared with me through 2003 and offered me their friendship, a big thank you and many hugs. For those I don’t know very well, I hope 2004 will be the year where friendship grows. A special note for the guys at the Lizard Lounge whom I’ve missed a big deal without a proper internet connection. To my close friends I send all my love… Thank you for the laughs and the amazing trust you have provided me with.

Happy New Year 2004! Already?? Yes, have fun.

Almost 3.0

Published by Bea under Geeky

So, Movable Type is now working with version 2.65. What’s funny is that BeaLog is still working with 2.63 and I hadn’t noticed… Must be one of those confusion times in my life when I take care of so many MT installations that I didn’t realize the old numbers. Anyway, it seems MT 3.0 is about to happen and for now I’ll stick to 2.63 until I’m back in Canada.

Just in case I’m not around during the rest of the week I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Times are “loco” here, too many things to do, too many people to see, not enough time for the internet. I hope all of you are doing well.

Nokia tune my ass!

Published by Bea under Life

Have you ever felt like committing fratricide? I’m feeling like it right now (I’m joking, of course). My brother has been playing with his cellphone tunes for about half an hour, going round and round, looking for God knows what because those darn Nokia 5125 don’t have much of a selection and is driving me crazy. If he were a kid I would be ok, but he’s 37 for heaven’s sake… Geez! Nokia tune my butt, LOL!

I had a lousy day today, felt kind of sick, too many people around, too much noise, my brother and his new home theatre with all the volume up with The Matrix Reloaded. Tried to sleep, was too hot, couldn’t sleep. Lunch wasn’t properly assimilated by my stomach and I didn’t get news from Patrice today… Le sigh. Tomorrow will be another day. How did yours go?

Reporting… 1, 2, 3

Published by Bea under Life

No, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. I’m still here, in Colombia, it’s darn hot and very christmas-y. The streets are full of light and music, there’s party everywhere and I’m having a good time. Last week was my birthday and I had a great time with my friends; we stayed until 2:30 in the morning telling jokes and talking about our childhood. I took some photos, but I haven’t had the time (or the patience for that matter) to upload them to my photo album.

Last night we got together with some friends to see a fireworks show given by the energy company. It was fun, and we had a friend’s little 3-year-old girl telling jokes… I swear I never heard a 3-year-old telling jokes. My brother and I came back home around 1 a.m. and I’ve been vegging around all morning, but soon I have to get ready because one of my friends is getting married next week and she hasn’t received her “Confirmation”, so the priest is going to do that for her today and I’m her “madrina”.

Summarizing: I’m good, happy and surrounded by all the people who matter the most in my life, except my dear hubby that I miss so very much, but I’m crossing fingers that he will be able to come and join me very soon. I hope everyone is doing well; if some of you receive Christmas cards from Canada, don’t be surprised… I prepared them before coming to Colombia and Patrice posted them a few days ago :) Take care!

December already??

Published by Bea under Life

Where did this year go? It’s already December 4th and one of my best friends is celebrating another year of life (¡Feliz cumpleaños, Any!). Tomorrow is my turn and my friends are all crazy flying like bees around the honey making plans for a get together party after a few years of not being able to meet each other, it’s fun. My mom made her special and unique cake, with the help of my nephew who almost jumped in the dough when he was trying to “help”… Whatever. I’m expecting his call to ask if he can come and play with me.

Life is good, the dry season is kicking in after some very rainy days. I’m all alone at home now, my brother is working and my mom is running errands (probably buying me a gift, buahaha!). I haven’t done anything special, my eyes are probably square-shaped afte all the TV I’ve seen, but thank God for the Warner Channel ;) I have the car all to myself, I should go and surf the streets of this city to see what’s new and stop by my best friend’s, but she must be in Japanese class… bah! Well, that’s all for now. I hope everyone is doing well.
