How do you pass from a cute bear with motivation quote desktop image to a sexy Hugh Jackman image from one day to another? It’s called hormones. That guy is hot! ;) And you can amuse yourself a lot at this Hugh Jackman Multimedia site. Now excuse me, time for breakfast and more renovations.

On other happy news: I just nailed a web design gig. The owners of a flower shop in Ottawa (they are Patrice’s clients) want me to design their website. I’m really excited, this means a little income and the chance to practice and master the things I learn every day in front of this machine.

Patrice has finally given to temptation, he bought a new domain name, registered with my host (which gives me $5 off) and is looking forward to starting a weblog. He already had a website about sports, but he wants to become part of our little blogosphere (he doesn’t know what he’s getting into, does he?) and can you believe he wants to be invited to Orkut? He’s really opening up these days, ha!

Anyway, he’s not much of a designer so he relies on me for the weblog layout and I’m already thinking of all the nice things I can do with it, like a guinea pig. For starters I’ve been playing with my private journal and it validates, and I’m going to apply my “knowledge” on the hubby’s website. I’m addicted to Pixel Patterns and found these two great sites.

Question: What do I have to do for the MTEntryTitle to show right before the MTEntryBody without the line break? Like at Marmalade.

I have a couple of them with nice views of Cartagena de Indias old city (gift from my brother), waiting to be framed and displayed in my currently under renovation appartment… Yes, we’re renovating. Today is day 1, et quelle belle journée! Beautiful sunny blue skies day in Montreal, me likes!

Very sad news

I spent the evening converting my weblog from tables to CSS with success. It still doesn’t validate thanks to a few tags I just can’t get rid of right now, but so far I feel accomplished and I didn’t get too frustrated playing with the positioning. I just had to sit down and practice again because I know how to CSS.

Anyway, I don’t know why I’m talking about website maintenance. Maybe because all my excitement about the switch was really brought down by a terrible news my friend from Colombia just gave me: two men killed the father of two friends of mine last night in front of his house. It seems they wanted to steal his car. His family is devastated, I just can’t believe it… You can’t be safe outside anymore in my hometown and it makes me very angry, sad and frustrated.

Weird introduction to this entry, but life is so strange sometimes, and in my country it seems to have no value at all. I react very weird. God bless Colombia.

The Leap Day

Sh1ft.org has a new cool photo project, a day in the life : the leap day. On February 29th, in this year of 2004 with 366 days, it’s time to do something out the ordinary, they say. Now I hope I won’t just get excited about the idea; I was really looking forward to playing with the second 26 Things and then I went to Colombia and forgot all about it. Let’s see how it goes this time.
