Streaming Bea

A couple of years ago I wouldn’t have even thought about it, but today I decided to be a brat and use some extra cash I got to buy a Logitech webcam. It is connected now and I can see myself in streaming video on Yahoo! Messenger, hah! I guess I’m more self confident now to actually go live on the internet. Oh well, now I can chat with my family in Colombia and my mom will be able to see me, so I guess she will be thrilled. I would like to now how to implement a webcam page for this website… Help?

Relay For Life

It’s been a while since I wanted to post about this and I wish I had a bigger family here in Canada, or a bigger group of friends, so I could gather a group of 10 people because I really would like to participate in the Relay for Life organized by the Canadian Cancer Society. I feel the need to do something meaningful, but I guess I don’t have enough faith in the people I know to tell them about it without fearing about being blown up.

It smells like babies!

Is it possible to smell like babies when you spend a few hours surrounded by them? I don’t know, but Patrice says I have baby smell, the good one, the sweet one, hah! That’s funny. My downstairs neighbour belongs to an association of SAHMs and they get together every Friday to do activities, while their children stay with a person to watch over them, and she asked me if I wanted to do that today, so I ended up spending a few hours with cute little babies between 6 and 18 months old. I was a little bit nervous at first because I only have experience with children between 3 and 6, but it was really fun… they’re such cute little people, and those smiles!

Funny thing, Elisa also makes part of that association (we found out we had a “lady” in common like a month ago or so) and when the meeting was over I went with her to look at flowers, we grabbed some lunch and headed for her house to enjoy the rest of the day. We talked while Jeremy played (she had an emotional moment and just now I realized I should’ve hugged her right there, so I have to make sure I hug her next time I see her), we had some fun in the sun, went for a walk with Mookie (her dog) and I even got a suntan… Oh wait, sunburn, hah!

Patrice went to pick me up around 5:30 and when we arrived home we proceeded to do the usual hug routine (big huggers here) and then he told me to close my eyes… I knew he had a gift for me… The Gilmore Girls First Season DVDs!! I screamed and then he asked me to look at it better… WOWSA! Under the Gilmore Girls DVDs there was a copy of “Chasing Liberty“, a movie I have been talking about since I rented it last week, so cute! I tell you, my husband spoils me rotten, but I like it and he likes it too. I guess we’ll spend a weekend at the movies, heh! J’aime mon Patrice. :-)

The NHL is Burning

It seems Canada has finally made it to the Stanley Cup big final, thanks to the Calgary Flames that won the series against the San Jose Sharks. Oh well, they say it’s been 10 years of an American monopoly when it comes to the NHL finals and now it’s time for payback! Good luck, Flames… And celebrate, Calgary!

Shrek 2

If you want to spend a real quality 90 minutes, I seriously recommend you go and see “Shrek 2” — It is AWESOME!! Patrice and I just got back from the theatre, where I laughed until my tummy hurt, while I munched pop-corn from a special “Shrek 2″ combo bucket (I’m such a baby, I know!). Unfortunately the kids were not out from school yet at the hour we went, and there weren’t any, but the few adults in there were having as much fun as any kid. The critics say this sequel is better than the first movie and I have to agree wholeheartedly… It SO rocks my socks. I don’t want to give anything away, but make sure you don’t leave the theatre as soon as the credits appear on the screen or you will miss something really cute. Bon cinĂ©ma!
