Little painful shoes

The first thing I did when I got home after my wedding ceremony was changing my shoes. I put on sandals because the beautiful off-white shoes I had bought for the occasion were KILLING me (turns out I spent many years of my life buying the wrong size, but that’s another story). I kept the shoes until today -you know, for sentimental reason- but I just took an executive decision: I’m going to give them to someone who can actually wear them. My wedding wasn’t fancy at all and the shoes can make part of any other formal outfit because they’re not white-white (I hate white-white shoes). Why keep something I’m never going to wear? It actually makes me feel as if I were wasting when there are many people in need.

There are other things I want to get rid of . Call it autumn cleaning.

Wanted: Mathematician

How to discourage and stress Beatriz in less than 5 minutes? Give her homework full of physical equations and a question requiring to find the integral/area under a curve. The equations are OK, I just have to apply the numbers. The calculus related stuff is driving me crazy because I remember ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. Funny thing, this course is not obligatory, and I’m *this* close to drop it, but I don’t think giving up is a good idea since I like the subject.

On the good side, homework is not due until October 22nd and I can go and stalk the démo (which seems to be Spanish speaking, based on his accent and name) and ask him for help and guiding. But just in case, is anyone out there willing to help me with this? I’m sure it will look really stupid if you’re really good with Calculus because it’s only a few numbers, but I’m feeling I’ve reached new levels of stupidity. THANK YOU, JAYA!

Anyway, it’s Friday, I’m tired and my neighbour just came to invite me to watch “Mean Girls” on DVD, so I’m going out because I’m about to burst with anger, but that’s another story.

No Writing Time

School really doesn’t leave much time to write and then my weblog becomes a babble of superficial stuff that is starting to drive me crazy. The layout change? I had that graphic on top ready two weeks ago, the rest is just CSS editing. Now, I really don’t have time to write anything of substance and when I’m the bus or the train wondering about the meaning of life I think “Oh! I’m going to blog about this and that, and then a little bit of that.”

But nope, it doesn’t happen. The only thing in my mind right now is “antifreeze glycoproteins of polar fish”, “heat shock proteins and thermotolerance in some kind of ant from the Sahara desert” and that kind of biological crap not everybody gets, ha ha ha! I think I might post only during the weekends from now on. I’m already starting to feel the pressure of school and my free time I prefer to occupy taking care of my house and my hubby. Oh well, you can’t have everything in life, can you?

And now it’s time to run. I have an Anthropology class at 6:30.

Falling Away

As much as I liked the grey-green colours of my “Back to School” layout, they couldn’t be as nice as the shadows of red and orange I’m using now. Fall is my favourite season and I couldn’t resist putting it up in my weblog. Happy Fall, everyone! Get those sweaters out. :-)

Just for fun, a collection of my lazy layout changes: The Mastheads (just like Dooce).
