Blame it on the roommie

The only problem with Ninja Turtle impersonations is that you can fall on the kitchen floor and break a toe. Hmmm... Yeah, I'm too old for that kind of thing. Yeah, it happened to me. Nothing to do about a broken pinky toe, though. But I can make my roommie feel guilty about it because it's all his fault for starting a water fight, and then I have so much fun just looking at his pouting face, heh!

Bonjour, Peter. Je t'aime... t'es "fu"! ;-)

My twisted sense of humor

Because sometimes I have no other way to talk about life's shitty situations. I crack myself up, kinda. They say laughter is the best medicine? Whatever!

Taking it easy…

Finally, some time for me to relax. This was a weird week, a very busy one, kind of emotional as well. I had a test yesterday and even if I won't get 100% I know I didn't flunk and I feel proud since I'm making double effort here, going back to school and trying to stay afloat with the French language. I also submitted a home-test yesterday and asked the teacher to have mercy on me and he said "as long as I don't have to spend 5 minutes trying to figure out a line, it will be okay." -- I just had to laugh and told him it wasn't that bad and that he probably was just going to laugh at the way I use prepositions.

Today I'm trying to do some things at home, wash clothes, return phone calls, reply e-mails, going for groceries later. Then it's back to books, I have so many things to do I think I'm gonna have to split myself in two. My Ichtyology class is gonna make me cry with all the fish orders I have to memorize and I don't even want to think about Botanical Systematics. Okay, I said I was going to relax, right? At least for a little bit. I'm tired, very tired... But happy.

Plans for the weekend? Who knows. I live in a madhouse, there's always something to do, roommies keep me entertained enough. Last night I discovered how many chlorophyll charged Lifesavers I can fit in my mouth: 13. Couldn't break someone else's record: 20. Yeah, a madhouse.

It smells fishy!

Literally. I dissected a shark today... Disgusting! But it was awesome. Sharks are one of the coolest and most misunderstood creatures in the animal kingdom, so it was worth it. I'm "nulle" with fish, just not my thing, but I have to take this Ichtyology class and I'm learning tons. The only bad thing is that my hands, my notebook, my backpack and my locker smell like fish bait after lab, but I'll get over it. No tuna for me, please... *Gags*

Roberto, it was a male specimen of Squalus acanthias (Spiny Dogfish). There was an issue with one of the students because it seems this species is vulnerable to overfishing and there were 18 specimens in class, but we got told these were fish that got caught and weren't good for sale, so they were sent to the lab. I personally don't agree with dissection, even though some populations will not suffer, since we dissect mostly specimens from "trouble species", meaning they are a plague or too common. Next in line we have a pigeon, a frog, a snake and a rabbit. Oh dear... l'abattoir!
