Oh no, not me!

I’m so NOT shovelling. It’s crazy out there! I managed to remove almost a foot of snow off my car and then when I saw what was around, I got so discouraged. I’ve never shovelled in my entire life! Yes, this is the first winter I have a car for myself. When I lived in Montreal, there was always someone who took care of that and my innuendos after winter storms consisted in removing snow from car, that is all. But this? Oh no, not me!

For those who are wondering what the heck I’m going to do… Easy! I have four roomies, all guys, one of them told me he will help me. On the other hand, my wonderful boyfriend is arriving tomorrow and he practically put me on time out when I mentioned myself carrying a shovel. I suppose he wants to show me what a responsible man he is, cleaning my driveway, heh!

It is so nice outside, I didn’t feel like coming back in. All that fluffy snow!

AIDS Day

Check these out: Light to Unite, RED, World AIDS Day, UN AIDS.

Today’s AIDS International Day, I feel compelled to write something about it. I read on the news that the greatest battle of the human kind during the 21st century, will the one fought against this syndrome. AIDS will become the 3rd cause of dead among humans, and according to the stats by the year 2030, HIV will have killed about 89 million people. They call the number ridiculous, for AIDS can be prevented, and efforts are made every day to educate people about it. Still, people are taking risks every single day, ignoring what a serious issue this is.

I recently made a presentation at school about the biological side of the HIV, something I had never really gotten into. I know the socio-cultural aspects of AIDS, but learning about the way the virus works was addicting. The darn virus is such a complicated entity, yet so interesting. And knowing how it works, makes me realize that it’s also a very difficult thing to deal with (I could tell you all about its replication and its genetic code -freaking awesome- but I don’t want to bore anyone). But prevention is the key, and AIDS awareness should be a top priority.

Did anyone say snow?

Hmmm… I was kinda sorta complaining that it didn’t look like winter here. Well, turns out I have to just shut my mouth because when checking the forecast this morning, this is what I found: “Warning: 20 to 30 centimetres of snow are expected over the region as of this morning over western Quebec, this afternoon or this evening for the central and eastern regions.

I’m so not looking forward to it, but I think I’m a lucky brat with really good timing. I’m not planning to go out, though. Hibernation!

Expect photos. After all, this will be the first big snowfall of the season.
