Colour Me Pretty

COLOURlovers is one of the coolest design websites I’ve seen in a while. They have tons and tons of colour palettes to play around when playing web designer.

In their own words:

COLOURlovers™ is a resource that monitors and influences color trends. COLOURlovers gives the people who use color – whether for ad campaigns, product design, or in architectural specification – a place to check out a world of color, compare color palettes, submit news and comments, and read color related articles and interviews.

The Face Behind the Blog

Logtar was tagged by Michael, and then he tagged me.

Putting a face to the name of someone you haven’t met helps recognition and adds a more personal feel to your conversations. I have always loved how Oso has all his links dressed with pictures of his “friends and enemies.” I hope I am counted as a friend, LOL.

Here’s the “rules”

1. Post a short blog article that includes a photograph (or a series of photos) showing the face behind your blog. If you already show a photo somewhere on your site, then make your post more interesting by choosing a photo that’s not currently online.

2. Include links to other people who have displayed a photo.

I will put people here that have followed me to keep the chain going… so make sure to let me know so I can put your links here.

3. Link back to the original post.

4. Tag as many others as you like.

What a delightful idea!

I’m trying to read self-improvement and life improvement weblogs these days. When checking my RSS feed reader, I came across several posts about keeping one sentence journals. I think it’s a wonderful idea, and with the whole Twitter and Jaiku boom, it’s easy to keep it online. Now I just have to decide which service I will use, but maybe I’ll make it a paper one, since I have this absolutely cute mini-journal I got a Borders the other day.

Anyway… It’s good to concentrate in the good things. Like my Tumblr, which I use only to post quotes, nice photos and links to websites I find teach me something.

Perfume – The Story of a Murderer

perfume.png

I read “The Perfume” by Patrick Süskind when I was about 14 years old. I still wonder why I was allowed to read it! I suppose nuns didn’t pay much attention to the books they had at the library… Eeek! Anyway, it is a great thriller, brought to the big screen by a talented director who did a really good job.

Having actors like Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman in movies is always a good thing. They both play their characters impeccably. I think the film makes justice to the book, respecting the story line. The set up of 18th century France is amazing. The costumes, the scenes, everything is so well done you can almost smell it.

Without being gory, Perfume is one of those thrillers that will keep you at the edge of your seat. Jean-Baptiste Grenouille will make you wish your pheromones didn’t exist.
