Too little, too late

Yahoo! News: Several thousand anti-war demonstrators marched through downtown Washington on Saturday. The group marched from the White House to the Capitol to demand an end to the Iraq war. Their numbers stretched for blocks along Pennsylvania Avenue, and they held banners and signs and chanted, “What do we want? Troops out. When do we want it? Now.”

That ain’t gonna happen. I know for a fact that the U.S. Government is sending more troops to Iraq. Why do I know it? Just because. People can protest, people can say mass, we are all puppets. When there is a political and economical agenda to take care of, democracy is just a word in the dictionary.

Friday’s Feast 160

Today’s Friday’s Feast, brought to you by the letter B.

When was the last time you visited a hospital?
Last week, but I was at the medical office building.

Soup
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how ambitious are you?
It depends on what kind of ambitions I have. Do I want to be rich and powerful? Not really. Do I want to be happy and at peace? Give me a 10/10.

LEG: Let’s Egg Gnomes

Main Course
If you were to start a club, what would the subject matter be, and what would you name it?
Oh, I know this too well: I would start a club for Stay At Home Wives Without Children. Mostly for support, because society just doesn’t get it sometimes.

Dessert
What color is the carpet/flooring in your home?
Ugly beige. That’s what you get from renting. :-P

Me? A tattoo?

Tattoos seem to be quite popular. My idea of them is just being marked like a cow, for life. Then again there are some really cool tattoos and tattoo artists. I kinda like “Miami Ink” (mostly because I have a secret crush on Ami, but don’t tell John… Oh… Hi, honey! LOL), and there are times when I think I would like to have a great tattoo artist do some work on my skin.

The problem is, I’m a person who changes her mind a lot. Call it ADD, call it a fickle personality, I just don’t stick to the same thing for too long. I don’t want to get a tattoo and then get sick of it. So it would have to be one that means something to me, and the meaning has to be HUGE. I haven’t seen or thought about anything I want pasted on my skin until the day I die. And of course, my mother would flip out.

But talking to my friend Sheryl the other day, she explained to me the meaning for her very cool tattoo. The Tree of Life, celtic; it means family, roots, tradition, belonging to a place. Then it hit me… If I ever get a tattoo, it will be about my father.

My photos on Schmap

Schmap is a leading publisher of digital travel guides for 200 destinations throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.” – I was contacted by one of their people to let me know one of my Ottawa photos has been selected to make part of the guide. No, they won’t pay me. And no, it isn’t a BIG deal, but still… I’m glad something I do is appreciated and considered worth showing to the world.

BlogHer Ads

I joined the lines of women who blog and like to make a little money out of it. I have no idea of how it’s going to work, but I got accepted by the BlogHer Ads network. Both John and I have been thinking of a way for me to make money from home until I get my work permit. Babysitting has been good so far, but a little extra income wouldn’t hurt.

Anyway, I better get my butt moving and start thinking of what I’m going to do this weblog to increase traffic. That, of course, will happen after I feed my client and play with him a little.
