Open Source MT

I wonder what is really going on with the people at Six Apart, but big changes are happening all over the place. First they sold LiveJournal to a big Russian company, and now they launched an Open Source version of Movable Type… Meaning it is FREE again. It can be modified, distributed, etc.. etc… for free.

I think it’s wonderful. I was one of those people who became so familiar and comfortable with MT, that I installed every single plugin available without fear of messing things up. I tweaked every template, created my own and installed it for other people… it was fun! Then I stopped blogging, then someone hooked me to WordPress. And while I am almost 100% I’m not going to switch back to MT, I would like to give it a try.

Who knows, after a few years… Anyway, it’s free again. Open Source!

Ortega, ¿por qué no te callas?

Yo creo que ya tenemos suficiente con Chávez queriendo meter las narices en el gobierno de Colombia, para que ahora venga Ortega a decirles a los criminales de las FARC que son sus “hermanos” y que liberen a Ingrid Betancour. Que dejen a Uribe gobernar su país, y que se vayan a freir micos. Ya estoy cansada del circo comunistoide de estos dos payasos.

¿Qué sigue? ¿Evo Morales mandándole e-cards a Tirofijo? Ugh.

Hmmm… I guess it’s Wizards in Winter by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra because I keep playing it.

What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year?
Nothing, really. I got completely spoiled for my birthday. But I have a Target gift certificate and some extra cash, so I’ll probably be getting a new vacuum cleaner because I’m fed up with mine.

Name a scent that reminds you of someone special in your life.
Lemon candy reminds me of my grandma who used to eat a lot of those. She had a cabinet in her room where she kept all her “mecato” and every time I smell something like that, I think of her.

That girl from Tila Tequila or whatever her name is. She’s disgusting.
