I saw this at Average Jane’s and I, Shane’s:
- Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
- Go to IMDB and find a quote from each movie.
- Post them on your blog for everyone to guess. Fill in the film title once it’s been guessed.
The Rules
- Leave guesses in the comments.
- No Googling or using IMDB search functions. Don’t cheat, suckas!
- Know-it-alls, limit your guesses to three movies.
The Quotes
- She doesn’t relate to other people. She was always a lonely child. (Amélie - Alysha)
- What’s the décor? Early Mexican brothel? (Chocolat - Nobody!)
- Every once in a while, a man’s eel likes to visit a woman’s… cave. (Memoirs of a Geisha - Logtar)
- The King himself asked me into his bed, with the Queen. (The Mists of Avalon - Alysha)
- There’s something strange about these trees. It’s like they know. (Under the Tuscan Sun - Nobody!)
- Mind your distance, though. Those balloons can be a bit dodgy. You wouldn’t want one of them to pop. (Finding Nemo - Wendy)
- I don’t LIKE food, I LOVE it. If I don’t LOVE it, I don’t SWALLOW. (Ratatouille - Shane)
- They’re so friendly. Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower? (You’ve Got Mail - Alysha)
- She looks like my third grade teacher, and I hated my third grade teacher… wait a minute, she IS my third grade teacher! (Sleepless in Seattle - Amanda)
- One grain of sand. It is all that remains of my vast empire. (The Neverending Story - Shane)
- If you do a bad job you’ll be locked in here with the cockroaches for two weeks without food or water. (The Goonies - Nobody!)
- En garde, you… you overgrown pocket watch! (Beauty and The Beast - Shane)
- Take a good look my dear. It’s an historic moment you can tell your grandchildren about - how you watched the Old South fall one night.
- You make $100 an hour and you have a safety pin holding your boot up? (Pretty Woman - Nuke)
- I’ve never been alone with a man before, even with my dress on. With my dress off, it’s MOST unusual. (Roman Holiday - A Librarian)

When I signed up for different job-searching websites and I started sending resumes, I thought it was going to take a little while for me to get hired. It happened sooner than later, I got an offer from a company that has a lot of potential, and which is only 10 minutes from home. I went to a few interviews that turned out to be really interesting, and that taught me more things about myself. I also, for the first time in my life, had to decline an offer.
One of the things that catches my attention about job applications (or any kind of application for that matter) is when they ask if you have been convicted of a felony, if you’re on parole, or if you have certain security restrictions. And while I just have to check the NO box at ease, I know that is not the case for many people out there. It makes me think because I always go like “What? Me? Never!” And then I realize that I’ve been lucky to have grown up in an environment where I haven’t had to struggle against social injustice. In fact, I have been able to live my life in a way where I got the qualifications I need for a decent job. Sometimes I just have to stop and take the time to appreciate what I have.
Saying that I’m excited and grateful about my new job would be an understatement. But it wasn’t only me… It was my surroundings, the people I have giving me support, the fact that my husband believes in me and knew I would get a job in no time. There are also my mother’s prayers and the good wishes of every single person who knew I was job hunting. Some others aren’t so lucky, and no single day goes by without my thinking how I can make a difference.

The Myers-Briggs personality type… how many of us have taken the test to discover how our personalities work? Well, I remember I used to be an INFJ, and now I’m a ESFJ. And I seriously think I’m more of the second… definitely more of the second. I guess there have to be certain conditions and situations around us for our true personality to arise. And while I’m not going to discuss what my life was like in the past, I feel more confident and more proud of what I am now: An extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging person. In fact, I’m also borderline ESFP (Perceiving).
It is interesting with all the career changes I’m going through lately, and what attracts me these days when looking for a job. The profile fits. Being a scientist? It doesn’t look a good idea. No wonder I’ve struggled so much.

You know what sucks about being stressed over a job search and all that? I totally forgot to post that March 21st marked SEVEN FREAKING YEARS since I started blogging. Hah… and some people think they are cooler than me.
You don’t believe me? This blog was around when Blogger was the only CMS and it didn’t belong to Google. When Blogvoices was the only way to comment. When Greymatter was being created by Noah Grey. When Movable Type became the last shit. When WordPress took over. It was around when Jish still blogged, when Kottke and Evhead became famous, when Dooce got fired, when Zeldman started publishing books about CSS, when Robyn had tantrums in Tampa, and when people died to be part of the A-List. And yes, this blog has been in the Blogrolling top 100 (47), but who really cares, right?
Yeah, it’s been a long way, baby… I guess it’s fun since I’m still doing it.

All I can say is “Wow!” - And yes, this Easter toy is in my premises today. Now I’m just laughing at it, but I had to put it on time out because I don’t think I can stand it every 5 seconds for 8 hours. I turned it off, the little one tries to click the button and goes “Awww!” — LOL
