Back to Anti-Spam

I had disabled my host Anti-Spam tool because I was missing some messages that got filtered and came from friends and other fellow bloggers, but just in one night I received 30 freaking unwanted messages, so it’s back to blocking. I’m sorry if some of you have felt ignored by me, but I didn’t receive any mail from certain domain names because the Anti-Spam program decided to take some of my friends dot coms and put them in the “BlackList”. I’ll have to figure out is there’s a way for me to “Authorize” certain addresses, but for now Spam Assasin and Spam Box will be my bests friend again.

Note: I just found out that with Horde I can check the Spam Folder to see if there’s any messages from friends that got filtered :) I guess I’ll be replying some really old messages with an excuse.

  1. I use Mailwasher so that I can bounce spam back but still get my messages. Its a free program and I love it. Happy New Year!!

  2. Yes there is, Bea. go to you CP. Choose Spam Assassin and enter it in the white list. :) Actually. I’m not sure if this is going to work with a full address or if it will only work with a domain. You could always ask Candi.

I don’t know where to go to check the Spam folder – will it be created automatically when spam comes in? (I always use Horde Anyway, don’t really like the other ones)

  3. I invested in a Spamcop account for $15/year – you get a discount for multiple accounts. It rarely lets spam through and after the first few weeks when there were maybe half a dozen legit messages that it held back as spam that I had to whitelist I rarely find it holding back anything it shouldn’t. I’ve had accounts for me and Meg for about 18 months now and it’s excellent value for money.
