Banned Pepys

I really like this Pepys Project. The idea of getting to know bloggers from ALL over the world is thrilling, especially people in the Middle East because it is not very common to read a blog from, let’s say, Iran or Kuwait that often. I found this very nice blog called Simply Stinni, written by a woman who speaks Spanish and seems to be related with Colombia too; I will have to read more!

So, are you Pepys-ed? I joined just a couple of weeks ago. They have a database similar to the one at Diarist.net, with the blogs/journals organized by region and country. It’s like taking the plane and visit other places. Really cool!

Also, I’ve noticed that today and tomorrow are the last two days of the Banned Books Project. I have seen the link all over, but just today I went to take a look; it is really interesting to see that some of the books I’ve enjoyed the most have been challenged (i.e. the Harry Potter series), or that some books are banned because “someone actually tries to think for themselves“. Great idea this BBP, to encourage writers and readers to NOT fear and appreciate talent.

Celebrate Your Freedom to Read. Is there a canadian version of this project/week? Yes, the Freedom to Read Week :-) Thanks Google, on its 4th Birthday!

  1. Ok, I’m going to the therapist for my dislexy  Thank you very much for correcting me, Sasha. We all learn something new everyday!

  2. Bea, thanks for the mention. I just found your blog a few days ago via volvo mom’s site. What a coincidence, huh? I enjoy reading your blog and the design is stunning.

I’m American but with links to Venezuela (you were close!). I mentioned Bogotá because I think it has the best weather for me.
