Blogs and Whatnots

I really need to check my blogroll and see what’s going on in the blogosphere. I’ve been so involved in my own life (playing the housewife, reading and watching the Gilmore Girls Season 1) that I forget there are other people out there posting about theirs as well. The blogworld is going through big upheavals after the changes in Movable Type, everyone seems to be switching CMSs and putting their weblogs in hiatus while they tweak things. I’ve decided to stay with my current version of MT simply because, for me, it works well, it’s set up to my liking, I know how to do stuff with it, I don’t need all the mumbo-jumbo with the new versions and I don’t feel like playing the techie these days (although I have to admit that ExpressionEngine looks like a really neat tool, but I just can’t afford it). I wanted to post an entry with deeper thoughts on this, but that would be a waste of time. 2.661 it is, for now.

  1. I’m all the time tweaking my site and sometimes mess up and visitors can’t see anything, and I don’t know about it until someone sends me an email.

  2. I’m now frustrated with own obsession with trying out different weblog software. I’ve just discovered all my comments have disappeared!

Stick with 2.661 as long as you can :)

  3. This is one of THE nicest looking blogs I’ve seen yet. I happened upon it through Blogsnob. Keep up the good work! Was that respectful enough? :-)

  4. Hi, just stopping by from the Gspot, taking Kim’s challenge! Beautiful blog you’ve got here!
And yes, stick with 2.661 .. I just switched to WordPress which is fantastic, except for the ‘switching’ part. Ugh.

  5. I tried out different CMS and love Pivot. I also got EE for free (one of the first 1000) that registered, but am not sure about using it.
