Family Reunion

A few days ago I said that I had some kind of (big) news and I didn’t want to say anything before I was sure for not to jinx it. Well, things are done and planned now: I’m going to Colombia! Yes, again… but this time with Patrice who asked for his vacation and considering my trip in November was in a very sad moment and I came back in a rush, we decided to go and be with my family and spend quality time in my loved country.

I’m so excited! Talked to my sister in law and we’re going to go all together to meet my uncles and aunts in Bogota. A big family reunion I will enjoy like a child because it’s been a while since I saw my cousins and their children for the last time. We don’t know what this year will bring with the drums of war playing so hard, and we want to enjoy the company of our loved ones.

Yesterday when I said to Patrice “I hope the war won’t mess up our trip” a colleague told me not to worry and enjoy the present moment, keep living and hoping and be happy for being able to do this trip. I think he’s right and now I can’t wait to take the plane and go to my Colombia. My mom doesn’t know yet, but this is going to make her so happy I feel like crying… ha ha!

Update: Have I ever mention how much I love my brother Jaime? He makes me laugh, he thinks like me, he tells me “I love you very much” every time we speak on the phone, he’s one of the smartest people I know on earth, he has been my confident and my buddy during my adult years. I just received his e-mail saying that he had plans to go to the beach during his vacation, but that now that Patrice and I are going to Colombia he definitely wants to get together in the cold Bogota (2600 meters closer to the stars). And he sent me one of his funniest jokes… I adore my buddy-brother!!

How exciting!! Have fun! :-)

BTW, I just remembered that my Dad was in Bogota about a year or so ago - he went on a missionary trip with the church. He said it’s absolutely beautiful there.
