Follow your Instinct, Always!
I love lentils, especially lentil soup, a very traditional recipe from the part of Colombia I come from. So, once in a while I prepare the lentil soup here and fortunately Patrice likes it too :-) But somehow I felt I had to master the darn recipe and make it taste like my mom’s own; I went to looking for it online, found one that seemed just like hers and last night I left the lentils in water and cooked them this morning… The result? Good (I guess), but not as good as it has been when I cook them “a la Beatriz”. From now on, I’ll just follow my instinct and do what my auntie tells me: Don’t follow recipes, just do what your heart and your smell tell you.
I didn’t have to go to work today, but it’s been quite busy at home. First with the soup, then organizing and folding clean clothes (God! Why can’t them come folded from the dryer… LOL). There was a pile of dirty dishes in the sink that were washed and put in the cup boards. The bedroom is still a mess, but now that the clothes are in their place I’ll make the bed and put the blankets for the cold weather. Autumn makes me be a good wifey… he he! Ok, I don’t want to think about the bathroom that has to be cleaned too.
I just realized that I haven’t eaten anything and I’m so darn hungry… lentil soup time! Later is off to Sears with Elisa. I’ll post my Positives when I’m back. How’s your day going?
