Fracture

I think I was about 16 years old when I decided to make Anthony Hopkins my favourite actor. I certainly haven’t seen ALL his movies (save the Hannibal carnage for another day, except for The Silence of the Lambs), but I have enjoyed the ones I’ve seen very much. Fracture was another delightful Hopkins experience for me.

Hopkin’s role is that of a very astute and cunning man, trying to get away with a crime he planned very carefully, so it wouldn’t look like one. He plays with every single one of the people involved in the trial like on a chess board, moving pieces at his convenience. Then there is Ryan Gossling, who I really don’t think much of, but I think he did a good job as the DA’s rep. The rest of the cast isn’t that important, in my opinion, for Anthony Hopkins takes over the screen from the very beginning of the film.

I didn’t figure out a lot of things until the end of the movie, but if you pay attention, you will be able to solve the crime in 5 minutes.

  1. I agree, there is just something untrustworthy on Gossling’s face on every movie… never seen an interview with him to see if it is just part of the acting.

    This movie was superb!
