How deep is your blog?
Posted: July 22nd, 2004 | Author: Bea | Filed under: Web, Weblog | 7 Comments »I was just reading one of the weblogs in my blogroll and something caught my attention. The person, a woman, stated that sometimes she wishes she could talk about meaningful stuff without boring the readers, stuff that also could cause controversy. I know how that feels; sometimes I just look at this page and think “Gawd, how boring…”, since I’m not really happy about the usual “I ate a granola bar for breakfast” kind of entry. But I’ve noticed that the more I keep myself from sharing my thoughts online, the more trivial my weblog becomes. Gone are the days of heated discussions about the Middle East crisis because I got tired of pissing people off because that would piss ME off as well. Mature not? I just couldn’t handle all the hate and the stupid reactions I saw sometimes. The problem is, I feel I’m not contributing at all. It will pass, I know…
Meanwhile, I found this Blog Survey at Girl Wonder’s and I thought I could at least share the link to an interesting weblog-related web page.

I understand completely. But don’t worry about your “contribution”. You’re just fine.
Thanks for the survey link.
Oh, and thanks for getting the Bee Gees “How Deep is Your Love” stuck in my head.
I hate you. :p
Hey, I miss your strong beliefs on things… even if I didn’t always agree, I enjoy reading them. I don’t hold back on mine… but thankfully I haven’t been dive-bombed either.
Hey… don’t worry about sharing. I saw this posting of yours on findory.com. It was honest, interesting, and very in-line with my own thoughts.
Go for it!
I used to want controversy and discussion but after awhile I got a little tired of it. As you all know, depending on the topic it can be absolutely draining. So I gave it up.
I find just talking about ‘nothing’ gets the interest of most. I think after the elections, war etc. people are maybe tired of it and the seriousness.
I always love your opinion, Bea. Although, as of lately, I am centered on getting some original content instead of editorializing.
Interviews with the local artists, perhaps.
for me, being online and blogging that has been THE most difficult thing. trying to decide what is right to share, what i should keep for myself and what NEEDS to be talked about. and the more i hash it out in my head – the more i realize i just have to do what feels right to do.
