I’ve been receiving a bunch of messages from a friend in Colombia where our current president, Alvaro Uribe, is blasted and it makes my blood boil. I should just tell her I don’t appreciate them, I like the man, I think he’s done good things under his mandate and trying to solve all the problems of a country like mine is a gigantic task. That’s why he’s going for re-election and according to the polls, he’s gonna make it. I’ll be glad to see him in the Casa de Nariño for 4 more years.
There, I said it. That’s why politics are so complicated. We all have our opinion.
Oy, You should hear my neighbors talk Colombian politics. Gets very loud. I don’t understand what they are saying (you could translate!) but I hear Uribe said frequently — and depending on who is speaking, it is said with distaste or not.
