Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

While most of the reviews I’ve seen about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are good, I’ve also noticed some people are too disappointed about the unbelievable action. I tried to take that position while watching the movie yesterday, and then I remembered the last time I saw an Indiana Jones movie premiere was almost 20 years ago. You simply don’t see this kind of movie the same way you do when you are 13. And yes, some scenes make you go “What the f!”, but it IS a very cool movie.

It has the same action, the same craziness, the same style; and that is what matters to me. You cannot expect to be “wowed” the same way as 20 years ago, because that kind of innocence goes away with age, but who doesn’t enjoy the ass-kicking that characterizes Indiana Jones movies? Some people were complaining that Harrison Ford is too old, but that is what I think makes this new story cool. And from the looks of it, we’ll be seeing more of Shia LaBeouf. I wouldn’t mind that.

  1. What? The movie was bad with major B!

The Andes natives, but with Mexican music, the chicken at the airport (and I have been there), the John Hurt character talking in Maya to the aliens (why Maya if they were in Nazca?), and the mind-boggling twist of plot in which they prove that there were no gods, only aliens.

And then Indy goes to a church to get married. WTF?
