It smells fishy!

Sharks are one of the coolest and most misunderstood creatures in the animal kingdom, so it was worth it. I’m “nulle” with fish, just not my thing, but I have to take this Ichtyology class and I’m learning tons. The only bad thing is that my hands, my notebook, my backpack and my locker smell like fish bait after lab, but I’ll get over it. No tuna for me, please… *Gags*
Roberto, it was a male specimen of Squalus acanthias (Spiny Dogfish). There was an issue with one of the students because it seems this species is vulnerable to overfishing and there were 18 specimens in class, but we got told these were fish that got caught and weren’t good for sale, so they were sent to the lab. I personally don’t agree with dissection, even though some populations will not suffer, since we dissect mostly specimens from “trouble species”, meaning they are a plague or too common. Next in line we have a pigeon, a frog, a snake and a rabbit. Oh dear… l’abattoir!

Hope all the neighbourhood cats don’t follow you home….lol.
Shark tale!!!! I couldn’t help but write that!
I know what you mean. Anytime I cook fish it seems that I end up having to go out afterwards. The smell never leaves!
What shark species was the creature you dissected?
