Colombian coffee bean growers began an effort Tuesday to boost income, opening their own coffee shop in Manhattan. Take that, Starbucks! ;-) “New York’s 2,000-square-foot store, which can seat about 200 customers, will be considered the flagship of an eventual 300 Juan Valdez stores worldwide.” — Now I’m eagerly waiting for Juan Valdez to come and open a shop here in Montreal. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
I read this in a business magazine last week and thought it was awesome. They are launching several stores and trying to change the face of Colombian Coffee… the article was kind of saying that it is going to be difficult because they are also putting bending machines on stores like targets so it will be hard to compete in both the gourmet market and the every day cup of joe kind of market. We will have to wait an see. Anything positive associated with my “madre patria” is awesome.
I’d have to commute daily for coffee, if they open in Montreal, so how about one here, in QC? LOL!
Oh, and Bea, as always, the colours on your site a gorgeous. Very Autumnal.
