Life as it happens…

Today I finally talked to Elisa after a week of playing cats and dogs. The little chat with had over the phone left me thinking that these days I don’t share much about my own life, even if it’s not that interesting. I’m concentrating in linking to other sites or talking about politics (if my views on the world can be called politics… lol!), which is not really me. I’m the “journal” type of person, talking about my day and adventures; I think that if I write more about my own stuff I’ll start feeling better about some things that make me feel bad, so here I go with a “all about life” entry.

I usually don’t like to talk about my good deeds or the things I do for people because I think it takes all the merit away to praise yourself (it’s a personal thing), but today I felt really proud of myself! There is this Colombian couple I met last month at the reunion with the Consul and they are really nice; well, they have been doing all they can to integrate to the Quebec society and while learning French they also want to start a little part time job. We need people at the office to work in the weekend shift; so I immediately thought about JC (I’ll use initials like Elisa), contacted him through my other Colombian friend, Fab, and he came to the office, talked to my boss and it seems there is a good possibility. He was so excited and thankful and I was thinking “Wow! It feels good to do something for a co-patriot!”. I hope we’ll have JC in our staff and I’m doing all I can to make my boss take a good decision.

JC was in the office for about an hour and we were talking about life here in Canada and so on. It’s so nice to meet someone from your country, with your same expectations, with the same way to see life, the same background. Later today I got to talk to CP, his wife, whom I sent some Alstroemerias to, and she was really happy about it. She called to say thanks from the car, where they were because they went out to see the Halloween decorations and filmed it… We agreed to get together not this weekend, but the next one because this one Patrice and I are invited at Fab’s for dinner. Yippee!!

You see, just writing about all this makes me feel better after a very busy week that got on my nerves, with some stuff happening at work, not related to us, but that affects us. And the paranoia of “nobody loves me” is hitting me these days, but just looking at how real contact people are with me makes me realize that good things happen to us every day. And I’m happy for having Fab, JC and CP in my life.

But I love when you talk politics… :)
Your writing is very good, I wish I was that talented. Have a great week. I have posted a few pics of my son in his tigger costume, check it out if you get a chance

Maggie, by real contact I mean people I can see, hear and get together with in a more frequent basis. Offline people, I guess I should call them.
