Made of Honor

When I saw the trailer for Made of Honor, and McDreamy was to play, I knew I wanted to see the movie as soon as it was out in theatres. Knowing that my husband is not a fan of chick-flicks, I was planning to go alone, or kidnap one of my girl friends. And then I read the reviews; no more than 5 stars on IMDB, people saying it was just the male version of My Best Friend’s wedding, etc. I wasn’t too excited about it, and I thought I would just wait for it to be out in DVD. And then I caught up with Grey’s Anatomy on the DVR… Who can resist Patrick Dempsey’s smile? I decided to go see it at Cinemark, and my husband agreed to go with me. We both liked it!

Yes, it’s a huge chick-flick. Yes, the story is not very original. Yes, it makes your think about Julia Roberts trying to stop Dermont Mulroney from marrying Cameron Diaz… But who cares! The funny parts are really funny, the Scottish landscapes are definitely wonderful, and the characters make you want to hug them. It is a light and soft love story that is highly enjoyable. The people who portray each character were chosen perfectly for the role; and Michelle Monaghan is so beautiful! In fact, I liked it so much, I am already planning to make it part of my personal collection.

  1. Hey, I went because I did not want her to go alone to see a movie… and me saying I liked it, is as much of an endorsement as I do not want two hours of my life back.

Its corny, but it does have some good humor. It was more for eye candy for her than anything else.

  2. Wow, uhm Logtar even my girlfriend doesn’t want to see this. She said she would watch it, but will probably not exert herself to see it in the theater.

Then again she isn’t a Grey’s fan, McDreamy doesn’t float her boat. I just got lucky that she is more into Batman than this!
