Stolen from Daniel.
Tell me about three things, in detail, that make you really appreciate your mom!
Be specific! Think about all of the things your mother may have done for you: things she may have sacrificed, times when she went WAY above and beyond for you, etc.
- She could’ve had an awesome career as the executive assistant of the Universidad del Valle medical school dean. She chose to stay home and raise and take care of her kids like no one else could. She spent endless nights at our bedside when we were sick. She stayed awake even when we were over 18 but went out partying with friends.
- She could’ve travelled the world with my dad (and I mean it literally… the world), but she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her kids even for a few days. She says she doesn’t regret it, and she hasn’t travelled at all in her life. But I will give her the trip of her life when I can afford tickets to Spain.
- She’s a woman who has suffered great pain in life, yet her faith is amazing, and her ability to make people feel better is unbelievable. She has let me cry on her lap like a kid when things have gone wrong in my life. She is the only person I can turn to for true peace and advice. She will always love me no matter how many times I f*ck up in life.
I could go on, but I’m already crying. I thank God for the mother He gave me. I feel like the luckiest person in the world for having her in my life. Although I know she misses me a great deal, she has allowed me to spread my wings, and has encouraged me when I needed to be strong. Through the distance, her love and support are there, always. She sees the good in everyone, and has taught me to be true to myself, and kind to others.
