Now I can say I’ve been to Texas

Yes, because Dallas was the last city I saw before coming back to Kansas City. John and I spent two wonderful (but very short) weeks in Colombia. I hadn’t seen my family in over 3 years, John had never met them, so the happiness lasted enough for us to have fun all the time. My uncle cried when he saw me, my mom couldn’t believe I was finally there.

We actually didn’t do much. The first 3 days we were stuck at home because my brother had to get the car fixed. And then, when we finally ventured out in public transportation John got traumatized, but that is a story I will let him tell. I am not used to Colombia’s traffic and chaos anymore; I was just glad to stay at mom’s, relax, drink coffee and watch funny Colombian soap-operas.

I was planning on taking tons of photos, but our outings were so limited, I came back to KC with just a very small amount of pictures I posted on Flickr. I think we spent most of the card trying to shoot pics of the birds that came to feed on my mom’s balcony. I was dreaming of taking pics in places I love, but you know what they say… If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.

We had a great time, we are almost sorry to have come back. Looking forward to the next visit, and who knows… maybe one day we’ll stay for good.

  1. Same here glad you had a good time, and glad to know you made it back OK. Can’t wait to hear John’s Story. Oh and and if you can say you have been to Texas I can say I have been to Vegas!
