Oh… my host!

If it’s not this, then it’s that, but there is always a little something going on with my host and I don’t know what makes me stay with them. Earlier this week, the hour issue and now I’m having trouble with the SSH and I’m not getting any e-mail messages at all. I thought it was only the notifications of the comments, but my inbox is empty all the time even if I do tests.

I don’t know if getting angry o simply laughing at my misfortune or my stupidity for not taking the decision to change hosts in a proper way. I don’t like to nag the Tech Support, but if I’m paying then I think I have the right to ask what is going on when things look quirky. I’ll wait to hear what they have to say this time… But moving is probably the next step.

    i was having issues with one of my hosts for allthingsgirl.com for the loooongest time and just kind of shrugged it off. but the other day was the last straw and i am moving hosts immediately.

    good luck in either rectifying the issue or finding a new host. if you need a recommendation – let me know:)

    My host is pretty good, runs her own server and she gives excellent support. She doesn’t have a site up but I can give you her email address if your interested. I love my host :)

    This past year has certainly not been a good year in my luck with hosts. I went through three of them and ended up being ripped off by all three! Finally found one that I have been very happy with. Actually after all my years on the web and having a multitude of different hosts, I can say by and large the one I’m with now is the best I have encountered.

    Color me a happy girl.

    Grrr. Sorry to hear you are still having troubles, Bea. I am with CyberPixels, signed up several months ago, no problems to date.

    I just recently signed up with webhostingbuzz.com. There website doesn’t look like much but they have great features and the sites are fast. And they are cheap. I got 2 years for $72.

    i had problems with my host. i would get emails, but from a handful of places (which i could document, like from forums, weblogs, friends, etc) i wouldnt get emails. i emailed my host about it several times. couldnt fix it. but i dont wanna switch hosts. i love the webhosting portion of it. never down, plenty of features, love the control panel, etc and i get it at $15/mo. PHP, the works. but the email hosting sucked.

    so my solution? i kept webhosting with them, went to http://www.directnic.com/ and bought my domain whiteazn.net with them (only US$15/year). and then went to yahoo and got my personal domain email with them for another $10/year. (you could get it cheaper with email hosting with directnic, but decided to just go to yahoo). yahoo says its $35/yr, but thats including the domain registration of $25 each year, but since i bought my domain, it was only $10. and if you want POPaccess, its just $24 more a year.

    thats what i did. and i like it. i like having my domain at .com and my email at .net hehe
