On a Day Like Today
I woke up with a smile on my face after a good night with the one I love. I drank the best cup of coffee in the world, said hello to my good friends online, gave a quick call to my mom in Colombia to listen to the stories about that crazy nephew of mine. Meanwhile, the sun was shining out there, just a few scattered clouds in the blue sky and we planned a little trip out to fuel and wash the car. On our way back we stopped to get really nice flowers from the hubby’s workplace, and a few hot-dogs and buns at the convenience and came home to relax for the rest of the day while doing laundry.
On a day like today, when you drive in your car with the windows open and good music is playing on the radio, you see the people having fun outside and the smiles on children’s faces; then you feel grateful for your life, your freedom, your chances. You feel blessed that you don’t live in a country ravaged by violence, war, famine, oppression, foreign invasions and so on. On a day like today you don’t take your life for granted and you look up to the sky and say a big thank you to the Good God for being alive, for having all your senses working perfectly. On a day like today, like Bryan Adams would say, you never wanna to see the sun go down…
the whole world could change
the sun’s gonna shine
shine thru the rain
on a day like today
ya never wanna see the sun go down
ya never wanna see the sun go down…
