Tapas & Friends

Last night we got together with a very good friend from HS and her husband to go downtown and eat tapas at Café Ibérico. Oh, so good! We had a great time, the food is delicious (as in YUMMY!), the place has a great atmosphere and I hadn’t laughed so much in a while remembering old times. My friend was genuinely happy to see me and it just made me feel good, being around someone who has known me for such a long time, being able to share that with new friends. I felt like I was being ME after a long time.

Anyhoo, after the tapas, we went for a little tour downtown, so I could get to see Chicago at night and I loved it. I just didn’t find it amusing when looking at the Sears Tower. I’m so not going up there, I’m afraid of heights and just looking at the building made my hands sweat, so nuh huh! I really, really like it here. This has been the greatest break I’ve taken in a while. I’m so happy I didn’t think too much about it and now I’m here, not worrying about anything, not stressing about anything, not feeling lonely. I feel like I’ve been recharging my batteries. And what can I say? I think I know what it feels like to be queen for a week. Cool!

I know exactly how you feel. I had the chance to hang out with my friends and also eat some great food in Chicago, and it has never felt more alive. I swear I’m going to get the tattoo of a Phoenix being reborn from the ashes.

Good times with good friends, there is nothing better!
