The moose & me

The first time I saw the lake, it was still a little bit frozen, but I finally got to see it in all its splendor. Beautiful, beautiful place! I went with my research project supervisor and the girl who’s going to be working with me during summer. We didn’t do much today, except for choosing the sites where we’re going to do the sampling of insects, but we’ll be visiting the place every other weekend until the end of august.
I’m very excited, I’ll get to start my research and I’m also allowed to collect plant specimens for my “herbier” (I have no idea of how you say that in English). Then there’s the lake, and the beaches, and the birds, and the beavers, and the moose and… Oh my God… I’m going nuts here! This outdoor life is wonderful and this region is breath-taking, I feel so lucky to be here.
Never mind it got quite hot today. Time for sun-tanning!

“Herbarium” would be a suitable English equivalent.
