My resolution for 2008 is that I’m not going to make any. That way I won’t disappoint myself at the end of the year, feeling guilty, for not having done all those things I decided I was going to. I already know what I want to achieve in 2008, and I have faith in God to give me what I need in order to do that. Anyhoo…
I do want to do a few things web-related, though. One of them is start reading and commenting on weblogs again. It’s been 3 years since I actually took some time to go through my blogroll and see what’s going on. LiveJournal has been fun because I’m posting about my life and reading about my friends, but I want to go back to those days when I actually knew what was going on in the world and having an opinion about it. So that’s one of my goals.
Another one is review the books I have on my LibraryThing. I have 208 in my catalog, and I plan to make it bigger. Most of them I have read, and I want to review them. Reading is a passion for me, and I hope 2008 will be the year where I can reach my goal of reading at least 1 book every week. I don’t know how that’s going to work when I don’t have as much free time as I did last year, but we’ll see.
The third non-resolution is to save enough money to get a SLR camera and feed my photography curiosity. I want to take more and better pictures. And I want to take a photography class, or ask one of our friends here in KC to teach me.
But I have to go now. We’re taking John’s family to the Crown Center today. :-)

It’s awesome to find someone else who loves reading! I can’t wait for your reviews on Library Thing. I’ve been using the Good Reads site more than Library Thing, but I really like both of them.
I hope Crown Center is still decorated for Christmas. Did you have a good time.
Bea,
It was great meeting you last week at 75th Street. I love your “non” resolutions! Today, I am ordering my digital SLR!! I will have to show it to you when I get it. There’s going to be so much to learn, but hopefully it’ll help me with my photography.
One book a week? That’s impressive. I would be interested in chatting about books with you sometime.
Cate
